Are E-Machines PSU's the same as standard PSU's?

I remember reading that some big named companys like dell and gateways have there own standard for PSU's and i have a friend who has a emac who's psu just died, i'm about to change it but i would like to know if its a standard psu where i can just buy anyone from FRY's and swap it? or do i have to special order to make sure i dont blow anything.
 
depending on the age of the emachine the PSU needs.
it's not likely to be a different pinout, which means an off-the-shelf power supply SHOULD work fine. but fitting it or not is the issue. some older emachines used psus of a less common form factor, and the emachines psus were a LOT smaller.

take yours out and take it with you when you go buy, to make sure they're the same size and have the mounting locations in the same area.
