I've had two different sets of Koolance and they are both a joke. I would like to try a different brand of QDC for my external rad. Hopefully to not have a set that leak or just plain pour out (like QDC3's I have now)after several months. There aren't many choices available that's for sure.

Haven't tried the Bitspower ones. Koolance has redesigned thier QDC's. The standard nickel ones never really had any issues. However, the black ones did. The black ones used to have a black hard finish on them. Black finish is notoriously thin, and wore off, leading to corrosion. The new revision that came out very recently are the same as the nickel ones, but are now simply painted black on the outside, leaking a nice and strong nickel finish on the internals.

What series are you calling the new ones. Are they the old push and twist style or the air hose coupler?

Just looked back at my receipts the first ones I had were (Push and twist ):
VL3N-FG and VL3N-M10S
With these they would stay stuck open some you would have to reinsert the male end a few times to get the plunger to unstick and actually close.
I'm still looking for the matte black ones I have currently to verify the PN's

Well can't find the order history for the ones I have now but I'm pretty sure these are them:
QD3-MSG4-BK
QD3-FS10X16-BK
They are black so maybe that finish issue you described is the problem. The end that has a problem though is the male which has G1/4 threads and screws into my RX480 rad. I have no leaking problems out of the male ends that have the coupler. Those can get unhooked and lay on my desk all day long and not one drop comes out of them.

I wonder if the new design your talking about that was released not long ago will work with the female coupler's I currently have that way I just need to order two fittings instead of a whole new set when only one kind is having problems.

before they got popular, i bought a set off of McMaster-Carr, never had an issue with them not closing off properly or leaking. not the most aesthetically pleasing designs, but they are industrial grade.
