Hi, I'm new to folding and i want to start running it on my computers at home,
So my main rig has a ATI 5850, is it supported?, from what i saw in the sticky there were only Nvidia cards.

ATI cards are supported but unfortunately the PPD isn't all that good compared to the nvidia cards. As far as I know there arent any problems with the 5850 specifically. A lot of people are hoping that when the new GPU client is released the disparity between ati and nvidia will decrease or maybe even go away altogether.

Damn, i downloaded the GPU folding software and it says my card unsupported, it seems to support up to 4XXX cards, is there any way to "hack" it into thinking my card is maybe older or something or just making it work?

It is sad they have added no features or improved the ATI core since February 2009.

We can only hope that the GPU3 client is taking all of their time / energy.

The flag listed above should get you up and running

On the sticky thread, go to post #3. That's the list of ATI cards currently supported..... It may now be out-dated where new cards may enter the market.... but they are updated as I get more information on them.

FYI - I have added that flag before to my 5850 and it still says unsupported. Looks like that flag only works on the 5870.

damn, someone has got to have some idea, there is a crap load of 5 series on the market
