Type “LCD Technology” in your friend Mr Google. I think that will give you a much better education then just asking here. ;)

Enjoy

Here's another question...."Besides speed, power, size, reliability, price, are all cars the same?" Hehe...Pardon my sarcasm. Those are big differences though. I still haven't seen an LCD with absolutely no blurring, so in that respect they are all similar, but even that is inaccurate, because I've seen some LCDs that actually were relatively quite good with blurring, while another was beyond unreasonable. You'll find the quality does vary on LCDs, with a lot of the reasons you just gave. Even outside of that, LCDs made with the same panels can still be different thanks to the build quality and quality of the components, and it can affect image quality. I only hear about pronounced screen door effect with the 2001FP, and not other displays that use the same panel. And many people say the 213t has much better color than all the rest. Same for the HP and Apple camps. So yes, while you will enjoy zero focus and geometry problems, and sharper text from any LCD, you will find variance in quality among them. And contrast, response time, brightness, etc are all big differences.

And BillR was able to say what I just said in one sentence :p

BillR, thanks. are you calling "us" uneducated?!?

Sailor_Moon, thanks. i didn't understand those synbols you show me. but that's what i was looking for. is that like trinitron, shadow mask, etc... in crts?!!

oled is out.

I guess I said yes and no.....Sort of like how if all that matters for you is getting from one place to another in one piece, then any car will do. Yet cars are all different, as we know. In the case of LCDs, you will enjoy no flicker, easier on the eyes, sharpness, and color...but again quality will vary, especially in the response time department. If you're not very particular, any LCD will do. Or at least a non-ultra-budget model. Take a look at some :p
