okay i was just wondering if you get a tube of arctic silver 5 wet, that it will in some way contaminate it? or well leme tell you what happened then you will get what im asking. i baught a tube of AS5 and put it on my processor, my bro didnt have any so i lent it to him. when he gave it back i put it on my pocket, i forgot about it and didnt check my pockets before i put them in the wash. so it went through and the next time i wore the pants the AS5 was in there. the cap was on there n everything. i dont know if its water tight. i just wanna know if its still good after going through that before i put it on another processor. thank you for your time

I would think that stuff would be proof against anything. Is it the adhesive kind? Had a bad experience with a P4 CPU being yanked out of teh socket because that $hit was so sticky it yanked out the CPU and bent the pins.

nope, non adhesive. although it does create a suction between the cpu and heatsink. but i think everything does that

It *should* be fine. If the cap didn't fall you, you're pretty safe.

Boozer - Sorry but we don't test for contamination if a tube is accidentally washed. ;) Send me your address in a PM and we will send you a fresh tube.

It's your lucky day boozer!

If it was me, I wouldn't use it. Chances are, it's still safe but I wouldn't want to risk frying my CPU all because I didn't bother to exchange some AS5.

lol thanks, im not gonna trust it. id risk it on an older cpu, but i lack an older cpu. thanks for your offer mr. thompson. and thank the rest of you for your time
