Arctic Silver 5 or....?

Does everyone use Arctic Silver 5 for the most part, or is there something better out there?
 
I use MX-3, though i personally don't stress over the type of thermal paste i put on. AS5 i hear is great, though i'm not to sure if there are TIM's out there that actually make more then a 1 or 2 degree difference compared to other ''crappier'' pastes.
 
yeah, im not stressing over it either. i ran out of AS5 and was going to buy more, but thought I'd ask...

Just realized Arctic Cooling released an MX-4, maybe give that a try. It's a bit expensive on newegg though($15), but quality wise they should work well.
 
The MX series is non-conductive and non-capacitive, I don't think the same can be said for AS5 - so that's one reason to go with something other than AS5.
 
AS5 is still great. I wouldn't stress over getting MX-4 if you can get 2/3 cheaper, the only real difference I've seen between it and AS5 is that it's a bit easier to apply and cures a slightly quicker.

i hate as5 its overrated nowadays, there are better things out there
 
AS5 is very old product, I still using MX2 but to buy thermal paste you should go check svc.com because is free shipping on all thermal compounds.
 
AS5 is fine, you aren't going to get better than 2 degrees by using something else. That said, if I was buying a new tube I'd just pick up MX3 for it's non-capacitive properties.
 
I use either OCZ Freeze or Tuniq TX-2, which ever is instock(havent seen Freeze instock for a while, great stuff and cheap as hell)
 
AS5 is still competitive, but it's true that it's capacitive.

I'd use MX-2 over AS5 - it's about on-par WRT performance (some tests show it performing better), it's easy to apply, and it's inexpensive.

X23-7783D probably is the best, but it's more difficult to apply. To many, it's not worth the hassle.

IC-Diamond definitely is not worth the hassle. It's even more difficult to apply (I simply had to use a hairdryer on the heatsink and dunk the tubes in hot water). I don't think it performs as well as 7783D either.

Indigo Xtreme is the best, but it's expensive as hell, and if you botch an application, you'll be very disappointed.

they did a breakdown of a bunch of thermal paste here on hard a while back, as5 was decent but wast in first i cant remember what was. some brand i had never heard of
 
ic diamon has worked pretty well for me, its very finicky about application though
