I ordered the Freezer 7 pro and it came with a dead heatsink. I have some 120mm fans and I'm thinking about just gluing a 120mm fan on there instead of just waiting for the RMA from newegg. Would this be a good idea? The thermaltake fan is controllable also so I could turn the knob that drops in the PCI slot and adjust the fan speed when overclocking. Would the 120mm fan hurt or help for performance? Also, would krazy glue be adequate for holding the fan on?

i don't think super glue would be good as the vibrations will probably weakin the glue..
the 120mm fan shouldn't hurt the cooling....

Actually, the fan is one of the best things about the Pro 7; quiet, air flow, mounting system.

can I just run it with no fan for now until I can RMA the thing? or will it get too hot while installing windows?

What about zipties?
that might work, but if you don't secure them tight enough, you may get some annoying vibration noise....

if you have other fans in the case and proper airflow, you probably could, although I wouldn't...
It will probably get pretty hot, but if you can somehow get a fan on there, that would be the
best option

I'll see what I can do about oakey rigging a 120mm fan onto there. One question though, should I have the fan sucking the heat out of the heatsink or blowing into it?

it would all depend on the airflow in your case, but i would say have the fan suck air into the heatsink

If it didn't look so shitty with the duct tape holding it in place like it is I'd just leave it because it keeps it COOL, haha.
