Just came via UPS 5 minutes ago, got it up and running and im very impressed. 2c lower than my Venus 12 was (5800rpm fan on the venus, insanely loud) at full load, idles about 2-4c lower too. VERY quiet, I cant hear it, the only thing I hear now is my side intake and the hd coolers, my ears are ecstatic. Slightly annoying that the handle on the clamp is at the top though, makes it alittle annoying (for those like me with the psu pretty close) to clamp down but overall simple and very effective :)

yes indeed, its a really good cooler for the money. my friend got it and dropped his cpu temp like 10C from the stock P4 Prescott cooler

how much of an improvement would this be over the stock heatpipe cooler that ships with the X2 athlons? Ive been considering this one for a while.

Unfortunately mine came with the aluminum heatsink, so im unable to do any tests, but according to what ive read its slightly better, and much quieter.

also, he did a seperate review of just the heatpipe cooler, as stated above, same or slightly cooler temps, at lower noise levels. The only catch is slightly higher PMW temps because the freezer pro doesn't pull air down through the heatsink like the stock opteron cooler does.

The freezer pro is my #1 option I'm looking at for my new build.
