I know you guys probably get these questions a lot, but I need some answers.

I installed an e4300 with an Arctic Cooler 7 Pro. It is running stock, with load temps near 50 degress celsius, as reported by TAT and CoreTemp. Somehow this just seems waaaay too high. I know I applied AS5 correctly and the heatsink mount is sturdy.

TAT pushes the chip to the absolute max for temps, generally 5 C + over orthos. try orthos - its still a hard test for the chip but the temps are more realistic for what u would be seeing under heavy load in daily use.
 
Well I did the orthos test and my 2 core temps seemed to have gotten closer together, and dropped by about 3c. But the temps are still high, way too high for an AC7 pro with fan at 100%. Any suggestions?

Personally I would have left the paste on the HS that comes with it because not only is arctic silver 5 over rated but ACs MX-1 and MX-2 are just as good or better

Btw, my E6300 @ 3.08Ghz (7x440) idles at 44c per core, load with Orthos ~55c using the Freezer 7 Pro
 
Well I guess the problem was a broken pin that I didn't see at first. I put on the intel stock and I'm getting the same temps, so I guess it's time to waste some more money.
 
Either your case cooling is inadequate, or your ambient temps are high. Either way, that is way too high for that processor. On this pc with my 6420 at 3.6, I still run 30c at idle with a Thermalright 120, and it only dropped my temps 5c from your cooler.
