The size looks nice (about the same as an ipod's), has a 20gb HD, video player (not really necessary), Compact Flash adaptor (REALLY useful so I won't need a laptop), and other features.

Has anyone used this player before and yes, what do you think about it?

It definately looks like a nice player, but it seems to me that you're going to be paying quite a bit of extra $$ for a feature you're not really interested in (video).

Why not get the gmini220, or the iRiver H320 if a color screen is a must. The iRiver has USB-on-the-Go support so you can plug in any USB device that identifies itself as a mass storage controller, including most cameras. You just need a 4-pin mini-usb cable.
 
Actually I bought it with discount (I work at CompUSA) and it came with everything. The nice thing about it was that I didn't need to install software for it to work, Xp Pro just read it as an external HD.

My friend also wants the AV420 version but he has two questions:
-Anyone know when the next version is coming out?
-Can it record European TV (Spain and Portugal specifically)?
