Been debating on moving to a Corsair H100 over my Archon. Mainly because it cleans up the look of the system and the H100 fits so nice in my case. I am worried I will have more noise over the Archon.. I don't plan on using the stock corsair fans. Should I be worried or is the H100 just a bad move? I was kinda worried about pump noise also. Plus I run my system 24/7.
 
I don't think it is worth it.the archon is one of the best air coolers available. Trading up will only get you a few degrees, max. Try getting 2 of those huge thermalright fans if you are unhappy with cooling performance
 
I have no difference in sound via my H100 over air cooling. The H100 cleaned up my rig quite nicely. My rig is actually quieter with the H100 than it was with air cooling. I have 2 120mm fans on the radiator with 2 200mm fans pulling the air flow through the radiator mainly because that is what my Thermaltake Chaser MK1 calls for...lol
 
I am already running Push/Pull thermalright 140mm fans. Wasn't doing this for better temps but just a different look. I didn't want to end up with more noise in the process. Right now my rig is very very quiet.

Rogue Storm, What cooler/fan did you have before the H100?
 
I had the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme CPU Cooler. It was so big it wouldn't fit my old case. Got a new case and decided to go with the H100.
 
From what I read the pump alone is almost as loud as my heatsink fan on full blast.. The H100 doesnt sound very quiet.
 
Ok, I have read the pump is quiet on other reviews.. hard to tell so I am just going to Frys to pick it up. Least if I hate it Frys will take it back. If it will just cool as well as my setup I have now then I will be happy. I just don't want the extra noise but looking forward to extra room and less mass inside my case.
 
i think is worth to try it. maybe temps become a little lower and the noise goes down. also i really like the h100 in the corsair cases. you can always take it back like you said. that's what i like from buying in my local micro center.
 
Ok, so I gave it a shot.. keep in mind I am only about 30 minutes in..... first impression about pump noise.. its quiet! I run my fans at about 700rpm and I gotta say its about the same level of noise if not just a hair louder but with the case shut its just about silent. I am only using TWO Enermax TB Silence LED fans for push. My peak temps after 10 passes of Intel burn in was 80C which is 5C cooler then I got with my last setup. I have to keep in mind its about 2F cooler so this and my Archon are real close in temps. Overall noise is no different since the case fans I used on the radiator were already there before and would throttle up to 1300rpm full blast. I get a bit more noise because of the 600T top grill but overall its still silent at idle and about as cool as my last setup. I have to say I am impressed.. I am letting my mobo throttle my fans at the moment because I can build my own fan curves. debating on picking up some 1450rpm Gentle Typhoon fans but my temps are good as they are so why bother i guess.
