Aquatue question.

AquaComputer equipment does not natively support 1/2" tubing. Aquacomputer is natively capable of supporting 10MM Which approximately equals 3/8" or smaller.

For my system I used the 10MM hose barbs available with AquaComputer and then used 7/16"ID x3/32" wall tubing. This tubing will allow you to use 1/2" hose barbs if you have 1/2" parts in your loop. Also 7/16" ID hose has been shown to be a good compromise between 3/8" and 1/2".

Probably more info than you were looking for but hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Can you give me a link to where I may be able to obtain the required fittings for a 1/2" tubing system for the Aquatube? Please?.

There is only one person I know of who can modify the Aquatube to have the 1/2" hose barbs you are looking for. He is on [H] as Bitchbreaker.

If your speaking of the aforementioned use of 3/8 fittings with 7/16 tubing then here is the place.

Last time I chatted with BitchBreaker (BB) was just before he left to see his family down in the South. At that time I think he only did that service through SNT as he is a partner of that company. However, BB recently stated they were "regrouping the company" and shortly thereafter deleted their Aqua Computer Product Support sub-Forum from their website. No one from SNT is talking about anything connected with Aqua Computer products so whether they can do this or whether you should send money is open to interpretation.

I would have no problem sending $$ to BB for anything I needed modded. However, I would be extremely leery of sending any amount of money to SNT since they appear to be in severe financial distress.

I don't disagree with you about SNT, but with the Re-group who knows where that leaves BB.

With the way things look an offer of work might be better than no work. What can he tell somebody "No".

Sounds reasonable to me :) Like I said I wouldn't have any problem sending BB any of my money.

Are you sure you want to use the aquabay?

I did my own 1/2 mod, but it creates a very fast and violent flow which creates a lot of bubbles.
my pump is the new laing d5 which is adjustable so I've had to slow down my flow just enough to have manageable bubbles.

Someone else had a similar problem, but I think they got rid of the Laing pump and all was better. Now IIRC correctly BB was also making an aquajet style 1/2" tube for his mod. But I never did see one in action so perhaps someone else will chime in that has it.

I just sent an invite to BB to post here so hopefully he will answer sometime soon. :D

Thank's for the kind word's Nurse,I am part of SNT but my mod's are now being done out side of SNT,Ill be building a site just for my V mod's that im so well known for :p also my machine work, custom work, building custom Water chiller's,ect.

As for the 1/2" mod..it wont ever work right unless u figure out what i figured out ;)> my 1/2" aquazilla added more stress to the allready large problem.the answer is in the "ramp" i had to build inside the jet it's self.all my jet's are slightly offset to correct the problem, but it still doesent fix all of it.

Would the problem be air?

Cool! When can you start as inquiring minds are all ears :D

The problem would be the high rate of flow with no place for the air to go but back in the loop.
Same problem DangerDen had with those POS small resiovors they used to sell. Large flow is not small tube friendly! Hell I can make bubbles in the line with an aquastream running @ 74hz with 8mm tubing.

So in a higher flow system a separate fill tube going into the aquatube from the back top fill hole ( if mounted in the Aquabay) would probably be wise.

Then when filling you could over fill the system about 25% percent up the length of the fill tube, then bump cycle the system and keep filling the tube until the air leaves the resevoir. Then cap the line with about 10% - 25% of the line still filled with fluid.

For those who have a Marine Hydraulic background this should sound familiar. This is the same method used to fill steering systems on Sport Fisherman.

I just got the Aquatube (modded to 1/2") from SNT and I have a major problem. It seems that something is causing a chemical reaction with Aquatube. It turned all black inside and causing pressure to build up in my loop. So much so, that it is causings leeks. I have Danger Den water blocks and I’m using a Thermaltake fluid. Does anybody know what is causing this? Is it the coolant?

Hrm,i havent ever seen this but id bet it is the coolant,id flush it with cool tap water, then dry it all out, fill with good bottled water, add about 4% ethal glycol and let her rip.if this problem return's please send me a pic of the aqua tube and of the aqua zilla (if u bought 1)
