Are Aquacomputer components really optimized for 6mm(1/4) tubing or 10mm(3/8) tubing?

It seems like 6mm. I want to use 10mm, but my engineering friend said that if the blocks are designed for only 6mm, then they would act a a huge pressure restriction and cause the pump to operate with a lot of load on it reducing its life expectency.
Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Not always... I have a 6mmID system, less than 1/4 inch. Still, it keeps the athlon64 3000+@2600 mhz very happy at 36° C... along with GPU, Mosfets and PSU.

So low ID works, too.
