Aqua Computer Quick q's

Why not just get the 7800 block?

Edit : Seems like sharka doesn't have any (shocker  ) I guess I will let TN or R1ck answer your question, though I know the block does have a floating GPU cooler which helps eliminate the height difference.

Sharka dosen't have any because AC sold out in less than 24 hours. They do have at least 10 each of all the new GPU waterblocks and the Aquabox's on order. BTW your XT should have shipped already as it came in two days ago.

The AquagraFX 6800 rev 2 will fit BUT you would have to cut off the VR sink. IIRC the 6800 LE fits without modification. IF you want the VR cooled then you will want the 7800 block. I know that Franz at It-Trade had a couple of these in his retail stock as of yesterday, but they can go quick.

No and I think it is highly unlikely they will ever have them as AC doesn't warranty any blocks that have used those copper cores. Too much of a support and liability issue.

i called sharka and wes said that he would not carry then because of mounting issues so who knows?

There are no mounting issues.

You do not want this as it causes problems. Would be shocked if they are still available.

Hmmm, that's very interesting. I was considering the Alphacool blocks because they are 30.00 cheaper, but they don't cool the mosfets. Do you know how much the 7800 block will go for?

With a 7800GT, would I need to watercool the mosfets or could I slap on a heatsink?

A heatsink should be fine as long as there is airflow. If you are overvolting, though, you may want to watercool the mosfets.

Hmm, maybe I won't need one. Alphacool is showing a picture of a mosfet cooler for 7800gt/gtx, but I am not seeing a mosfet heatsink on the gt.

I use the twinplex blocks on mine and they work quite well.
QFT..... the ram only needs ramsinks and a 3v fan blowing across them. Silent yet effective.
