hi,

I just ordered some new parts for a new build and i was wondering if a control board is needed to make the aquastream work? Thanks.

The Aquastream pump will not work without the controller. It is not a native DC device. It actually runs on AC and they change the pump output by varing the cycles per second of the 9 VAC voltage that comes off the DC controller. The Aquastream should come with a controller unless you bought it used with a blown controller. So don't hook it up to DC voltage or you will let the magic smoke out.

ok thank you. i bought it form sharka but just didn't know if i had to by the optional controls at the bottom to make it work.

Nope, pump comes with the controller necessary to work with a simple power supply connection.
