Is aqua computer better than the others just pure performance or is its substatantially higher price solely justified by its looks (which are great by the way).
i am both asking this in terms of pure performance, and what you get for the price.
thanks

This will probably soon be moved to the watercooling thread where it will get much more attention but I can answer your question since I have both Aqua Computer equipment as well as Swiftech.

Both are great but in my own opinion:

Swiftech = better performance, good bang for buck cooling

Aqua Computer = better looking, expensive but yet still very good performance

Most of the AC crowd will tell you they don't mind giving up 1 or 2 degree C for their rigs looking as good as they do.

Now the Storm, that is one fine piece of craftmanship, performance and good looks.

swiftech storm: http://www.swiftnets.com/products/Storm.asp

best performing mass produced block out there. the looks don't do much for me, but whatever, that's personal preference.

in response to you original question aqua computer has better looks, and okay performance.

performance per cost: pretty lousy.

raw performance: adequate.

competitors pretty much all look worse, however some cost close to the same, and blow away AC in performance, and others just cost less and offer somewhat better performance.

if you have a budget that can accomodate A-C gear, and are more interested in performance, you might want to take a serious look at a thermochill rad, storm CPU block, D5 pump, fans suited to your noise requirements, silverprop GPU block, DD maze 4 GPU, or swiftech MCW55. just add tubing, res or T-line, distilled water, and coolant additive.

Warlord BB nailed it. While the argument whether high flow or low flow is better is still being debated, the general consensus is that Aqua-computer leans to form vs. function while the 'tupperware mods' are more function vs. form :p

From my personal experience you are going to spend a lot of money and wait a lot of time for your Aqua-computer components, but they are the best if your all about the quality of the product.
