Applying Thermal Paste to i7

I still have some AS5 left and this Friday i'll be putting my new system together, but this is my first Quad Core. What is the preferred method of applying thermal paste for the people who tried both on their Quads. Horizontal line or pea sized dot in the middle and aplly the HSF? Is there any difference between these two methods when it comes to i7?

Thanks for the link, but i checked that out already, i was curious if somebody was trying out some different methods and what results they were getting.
 
I'd assume the best way is the way that Artic Silver recommends, they are the experts who have done extensive testing. It's in their bets interest for their consumers and reviewers to get the bets results possible in comparison with their competition.
 
I think peasize shape will work for i7.

I think the "line method" was for those Intel CPUs that had two dies fused together. So a line method would cover both center of the two dies.
