Applying AS5 to 8800

I was thinking of applying AS5 to my 8800gts to help cool down temperatures. I was wondering if you can put as5 on the memory instead of the thermal pads they have on them, the ones on there now are all curled up i guess from the heat. But after i put AS5 on the gpu, do i take of the pads and apply it to the memory or no

No, you have to leave the pads there without damaging them or you'll have to get a new set of pads.

The pads are made extra thick because otherwise there would be a gap between the cooler and the memory. You cannot use AS5 between the memory and the cooler.
