Hey guys, I didn't know if this was the best place to post or what. We are turning our break fix office into a managed service/contract and the new software we got to help us with this minimum requirements are "3.0Ghz Quad Core CPU with 3GB or more, 2 physical disks, 60GB in space."

It is based of SQL so I know more memory and Raid 10 would be good.

I was just hoping someone could help me select parts for the build. I do not care if it is consumer motheboard vs server grade. I need to do this as inexpensively as possible in a rack case.

Any help would be great.

I know that, the requirements are the 3Ghz Quad Core, 3GB or more, 2 Physical Disk, 60GB or space.

I want to have more ram and Raid 10.

Well, you didn't say that. A requirement of '2 disks' to me, means 2 disks, not N*2 disks :(

What's your budget and what's the load going to look like? Are you going to do separate arrays for db, tempdb and transaction logs?

Don't think I need that. The software recommendations are for a larger size than what we will be using right now. In the future after we get 50 sites on it may need an extra server but for now just looking for suggestions on that. Raid 10 Array with SAS Drives, memory, cpu/motherboard. Figuring doing a Xeon Sandy Bridge, looks inexpensive enough, and memory and a raid card. But wanted some recommendations

Yeah was in process of closing this one as more input on the other side. Think just going with a Dell Outlook, Xeon 2.53Ghz 2 300GB SAS
