*Drewl* i hope HP makes a 30 inch with the same panel... i would buy it! it would probably be alot cheaper than apple also! They mark up their prices! look at the 23 inch... its the same panel that HP uses for their L2335 yet apple marks it up 300 bucks above what it should be! I think 2800-2900 would be a much better price! :) Agree?

i wonder who makes the panel for the 30 inch... its not on LG's manufacture page... humm...

Damn! I thought I was content with my 17" lcd..;)

Oh well, maybe when I'm making thousands as an airline captain....:D

Well, it's a more favorable price for any consumer that can afford it, but honestly, I was surprised when I saw the price of this LCD. High-end LCDs used to debut for around $4000, and given that this is not only 77% larger but also gives you 73% more screen space (in pixels) than the 23" LCDs, to charge only twice as much seems like a deal.

It's takes 2 DVI ports to run that thing too!
My dream is still 3 20" LCDs

That was the part I was confused. But I think they mean the first DVI port can connect to the 1st 30" and the 2nd DVI can connect to the 2nd 30" LCD. That was on Apple site.

Correct, since the special 6800 Ultra card Apple will be selling has two Dual-Link DVI ports.

I was reading MacRumors (something I read to find out what's happening with iPod releases) the other day and they were talking about new displays coming out soon, and here they are.

30" is too large for me, but it probably isn't for some of the graphic designers.

Ok I guess the Dual-link part confused me. So "Dual-Link DVI ports" isn't 2 normal DVI ports but a whole new DVI port standard?

No, some of the high-end workstation cards have it...it's basically putting the power of two DVI ports into one to drive these extremely high resolutions.
