Any servers will likely be reserved for low-volume M8 Ultra chips rather than the rest of the series. Even if Apple saw wild demand, they wouldn't touch the scale of everyday products. Apple sold an average of 60,000 Macs per day in 2023... I'd be surprised if Apple sold that many servers in a month.

It's also better in the long run as M-series chips are much less power-hungry than typical server hardware. An RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell uses up to 600W by itself; the most powerful Mac Studio (M5 Ultra with 36 cores and an 80-core GPU) uses 480W. Even if each server isn't as individually speedy, there are certainly customers who'd be willing to trade that for much lower power bills and water consumption.

You do not need evaporating tower to cool an couple of RTX pro (or with Rubin and its successor virtually ever even in hot climate) and has will it be more efficiant than others will have to see, the feynman-groq 4 LPX inference from nvidia "spark-3/4" equivalent in 2029 will be incredibly efficiant has well.

We are probably more talking closet size server room here, not datacenter.

MacMini/studio explosion in sales for this type of work, would make any company consider making actual product directly for that segment and not just one that mostly stumbled into it for other reasons.

MacMini-Studio are popular, ability to chain and grow your rack via NVLink level networking coudl be interesting as an futur upgrade
