Hey,

I just bought a apple aluminium keyboard, which I use on a pc with ubuntu

When I turn on my pc, it says that it doesn't recognize the keyboard/keyboard error (bios boot screen or whatever it is called)
Now when I turn off the pc and turn it back on, the keyboard is recognized and ubuntu start just fine.

Is there a way that my pc recognize it from the first time I turn it on?

thnx

I had a similar issue though I'm not entirely sure how I resolved it. Plugging in a PS/2 keyboard and booting once was apparently enough to satisfy my motherboard. I now no longer need to boot with a PS/2 keyboard attached and the keyboard works at boot every time.

That isn't particularly helpful advice, but if you have an old PS/2 keyboard lying around, it's worth a shot.

Maybe just disable halt on error in your bios? I'd hope it's just the keyboard taking too long to start up and by the time the os stats scanning usb it will work fine.

phide, I was thinking the same. Then again, I don't want to hook up 2 keyboards to my pc.

@keenan: I'll try that.
