I bought an Apple keyboard (USB aluminum version at my local worst buy) a while back so I could use it for the work mac mini but it seems after upgrading to mountain lion they keyboard has some keys that do not respond. I tried to plug it on my windows box and the keys didn't work there either so its definitely the keyboard.

For example i can't type the ] symbol, } symbol, or capital D or E. ] and } are important as I need these to do my iPad programming at work.

I have never have ever seen a keyboard fail before. I no longer have the worst buy receipt anymore, and the keyboard is under warranty for only a year I think.

$50 door stop, and it can't even do that right (as its too low and the door would just go over it). I will never buy another Apple peripheral. Anyone else had this happen? :(

RIP Apple Keyboard

Now I'm even more confused, I decided that "What the heck? Its already broken, Lets smack it around a few times and press as many buttons as we can at the same time"

It was still plugged in with TextEdit up on the mac. Banged it a few times then.......it automagically started working again. I noticed the capital letter and the symbols are working again.

Confused more than ever now...

always tell people, a little beating goes a LONG way.

Just contact Apple that the Warranty should be a year you will have to give them a CC for advance shipment of the replacement keyboard but once they receive yours the authorization will drop off.

3,239 people disagree. And I say it is the best designed scissor switch out there currently. Logitech needs to get it's butt in gear and innovate in this space (more than washable keyboards).
