I remember seeing this setting when I had a agp system but I dont recall seeing any kind of setting like this on my MSI neo4 plat/sli. does a aperture setting of some kind exsist for pciE(or am I just missing it?)

thanks

is there a reason why not? i mean it would benifit just as agp would from it correct?

I'm not sure I have never owned a pci-e card but know there just isn't an aperture setting.

PCI-E doesn't need this setting, as a PCI-E card can directly access ALL the ram without CPU intervention (if needed).

It's part of the reason why "Hypermemory" and "Turbocache" can work on PCI-E cards, but not AGP cards (the other would be the bidirectional nature of PCI-E, whereas AGP only really works system->GPU and not so well GPU->system).

PCI-Express is a much more robust bus, designed from the ground up to work in applications that require high bandwidth and rapid communication between system RAM/CPU and peripherals. AGP is little more than a hack to PCI, hence the wide variety of settings that affect AGP. For the most part, PCI Express "just works," and doesn't require massive tweaks to get optimum performance.

Nope, it would slow down PCI-E.

PCI-E dosen't need a backward out of date crotchity old way of accessing RAM, it has full direct access.
