If you have an aperture grill monitor, try it and you will see.
Go from 640x480 to and in between 2048x1536 if you can.

Switching between 800X600 and 1600X1200 on the standard Windows XP blue background, the lines are more noticable at 1600X1200. At the lower resolution the size of the pixels makes the lines look smaller in comparison.
