APC Smart-UPS 1000/1500 Replacement Batteries

Hey guys,

Got an APC Smart-UPS 1000 and 1500 off of craigslist a few days ago for $30, a steal imho. However, the battery pack from the 1000 is missing and I believe the pack in the 1500 to be shot. The 1000 won't light up at all, my guess is from the missing pack. The 1500 will appear to be charging when plugged in, but as soon as you put a heavy load on it with no a/c power, the charge LEDs drop to the lowest one and starts to blink.

Does anyone have any good shops/sites to buy replacement battery backs from? Personal recommendations greatly appreciated. The APC brand packs are just a bit tooo much for my taste.

The 1500 uses the RBC7 and the 1000 uses the RBC6

Just purchased RBC6 & 7 from that very site for the very same UPS models.

I usually get my batteries at batteryspec.com. And I am talking about work purchases also so I have purchased dozens of UPS batteries from them.

BTW, remember to condition the batteries before using them.
