I just purchased a BX900R from CC for $65 (normally $140). I hooked it all up and it works perfectly. I wanted to know if there was an application that I can use that will send out an email to me if and when the power goes out, just as soon as the UPS notifies the PC that the power has gone out.

I don't believe the home version of APC's software will do that. I do know that their enterprise level software will, though. Nice price, btw!

I think that the Windows built-in power management software will allow you to run a command file (can't confirm, since I've disabled the Windows stuff and installed the APC instead). If you can get a command line e-mail to go, that's a possibility,

The "free" APC software doesn't have an e-mail capability that I can find. The enterprise version can be downloaded, for a price, from the APC web site.

The deluxe edition of PowerChute Business will do e-mail. Before you buy, check the manuals and info online to confirm that it is completely compatible with the OS and UPS you are using.

The Enterprise edition appears to require special interface cards in the PC rather than the usual serial/USB interface.
