APB Beta

No one has been playing this?

I played last Sundays 4 hour deal... there was a boatload of people trying to play, a lot of stupid kids who only wanted to change the way their guy looks.

As far as calling it beta, no, I would call it in between alpha and beta.. lots of bugs, ran like ass on my pretty decent machine, etc.

It definitely has potential to be a baaaaaaaaaaadass game.

That's about as much as I can input.. I did play though and the idea is awesome.

I'm in. It's pretty fun if you don't mind the bugs, but that's what a beta is. I'd say it's closer to being in alpha though. It'll be pretty impressive once they work it out a little more. I'm disappointed with the car handling. That's something I like to see done right.

As long as the subscription fees are reasonable when they release, I'll bite.

Yah another MMO , a Grand Theft Auto clone at that. Pass.

PS luxor is a noob.

Why do you want to be a beta tester for APB?

Why do they ask this question, when there is hardly any info out about this?
I dont know shit about this game, I just want to try it out, and idk maybe help make it better....

Beta applications are so irritating....

I was in a bit ago and didn't really like it. I think the later stuff would be cool, but I wasn't into it enough to slog through the spray paint the walls stuff, and the first car you get literally controls like a less responsive brick.

I also hated all the character models they gave you to choose from. Thought they looked too druggie/beaten by life. Although that's probably in line with the games story, it didn't jive with me.

Thats no good.
Also, I found this on the web site

APB is entirely online and multiplayer however, it's a unique game unlike other MMOs out there. The game runs on fast, high-quality dedicated servers allowing you to enter cities and engage in a new style of game where your actions bring you into opposition with other players dynamically: there's no waiting in lobbies. You can encounter thousands of other players over a short period of time. Our dynamic matchmaking allows solo and group play in missions, against - or with - real people, never an AI. We're still working out how to describe that in a three letter acronym... Suggestions are welcome.

So how does that work? Does it work?

I got in and DL the client but the beta days was something like late sunday night which was stupid anyway missed that and not read about it since for when the next beta test session will be, it looks interesting but I have to say 100 people per zone doesn't seem like many to me.

I like MMOs but for the "massive" part, thats why I like games like Planetside and Warhammer Online, you can jump in and fight in massive battles which you can't really get anywhere else.

I think it looks like fun. Kinda bummed about the extra $10 but at least it's for lifetime.

This worries me greatly. It could easily end up like WAR where the game is great when there are tons of people around, and a giant pile of crap when the population in areas gets thin.
