i hate AOL....but my dad insists we use it...somehow our network is setup so that the only way to connect to the internet is through AOL....does anyone know how to change that??
 
Get a different ISP or go broadband :)

Thats your only other option.
 
You should tell your dad he makes bad ISP decisions, and then give him nice detailed charts showing why DSL, which is probably only a few bucks more (like it is here - Verizon DSL is $29 here, AOL is $23?), is much better.

If he doesn't believe you, have him post on the forum and we'll set him straight.
 
But it's still better and faster than AOL and dial-up.

I use Comcast myself, but that tends to cost more. I don't know what other ISPs would be available to the OP, like Optimum Online, SBC, RCN, etc.
 
Not knowing how old this poster is and the fact he's only got 2 posts here so far, sounds a bit like he is looking for a way around the parental controls his dad may have put on his account......

As much as I dislike AOL, there are times that is the only viable choice when faced with keeping the "little ones" on a leash. :p

If you can't trust your "little ones" on an internet connection, you have bigger problems than what they are looking up when you are not there.

However, that is the impression I am getting from this poster as well.
 
while technically software
this doesnt look like it going anywhere in a hurry
and the alternatives have been covered
so with the negative (if accurate :p ) title this has being a spam magnet
Im lockin it and letting it drop ;)
