Hey, im thinking of getting age of conan ... but i'm not sure how my gpu will handle it and i can't find any reviews. Iv used the "can you run it" sites but they don't tell much now do they :)
Can anyone with similar system (3870, 2g etc) who has AoC write few words pls :) ?
I play at 1680x1050 and running in lower res is not an option ;)

Also are there any driver issues with AoC atm ?

Thanks ;)

AoC seems to have terrible Crossfire support so your system should be stronger than mine and I can max all settings at 1680x1050 (haven't tried anti aliasing yet).

I compared an 8800GT vs a HD 3850 @ 760|1019 in AoC. The HD 3850 did fine with shadows off. I had the rest set to high with 4xAA|8xAF bloom enabled etc @ 1680x. In areas where the overclocked HD 3850 went as low as 21FPS the 8800GT was doing 31FPS at the same settings. So sometimes AoC might feel sluggish on the ATi card if you are running 1680x high with filtering active.

Crtl + alt + f brings up the FPS counter in AoC. If you are seeing lows down to 10FPS definitely kill shadows.

Yeah im going to bench with fraps when i get it but im busy this week and have no time to go pick it ;)

Look at my sig im running about the same as you. I get horrible frames when shadows are on, If you turn them down its not bad at all.

Please let us know how it goes if you decide to play AoC. I'm configuring a new system (because AoC brings my current computer to it's knees), and need to get a "temporary" video card with it because I'll get one of the new ATI or nVidia cards in month or two, after they are released and reviewed. I'm trying to decide between an HD 3870 512MB or a GeForce 8800GT 512MB, and would like to know how well the HD 3870 handles AoC, since it's the less expensive option.

So far my experience with AoC has been nothing short of awesome.

It's definitely a computer destroyer, but I run it with every option nearly maxxed and barely ever drop below 50fps.

The comp in my sig is what Im running, and the 2 9600GT's run flawlessly. if I disable SLI I drop down to 36fps.

nVidia definitely has the advantage here.
