well i'm currently shopping for a 1-2gb dap. i'm looking for the best sound quality i can get with and without an amp and great battery life. i'll use when i workout so a flash based player is a must. right now it seems like the 1 or 2gb nano would fit the bill, but what else is out there (plus i don't use itunes)? i know creative makes a 1gb player and i've heard great things about the iaudio u2 and u3? and i'm pretty sure iriver has something to offer. so yea, any suggestions?

I have tested many and specifically tested the samsung yp25(??) because it was recomended as best audio in an mp3 by cNet. I would have to agree. Didn't buy it though I want more storage.

ipod shuffle is better than the nano soundwise
maybe it is, but i see no point in having a digital audio player without a screen. right know i'm pretty set on the cowon iaudio5, but am considering something bigger, probably along the lines of 4-5gb. so yea, once again other than the nano what else is there that's worth a look?

I believe sandisk has a flashbased mp3 player that has around 4gigs of storage. It also includes an FM tuner. I have never used it but have heard pretty good things about it. I think it has around 20 hours of battery life and runs off of one aaa battery.

Alternately samsung has a 4 gb music player. Some people have had battery trouble with it (only lasting around 10-15 hours). From what I hear the sound quality is superb and it is a little thicker than the nano so not as prone to snapping in half.

i would say get a zen micro. i like ipods, but why couldnt they throw in fm radio? the micro has that, and not to mention that they are lower cost than ipods
