Anyone using water cooled PSU?

after i get the rest of my wc'ing components i was thinking about wc'ing my psu.

there is also a brand now making wc'ed psu's but theyre really expensive. like $250 i think. i'd rather do it myself to tell the truth.
 
Yeah, if you have a 750w PSU, and it's running at 80% efficiency... that's putting about 150w of heat into the loop. Course... when are you actually using 750w of power?
 
I dont think its worth it...are you talking about adding it to the loop or creating its own?
 
need I mention warranty issues especially on for example a PCP&C 1KW.
 
Personally, I'd never consider putting a PSU on the same loop as my CPU and GPUs. It would be nice to eliminate those noisy PSU fans--think I found a good project for myself now...

Agreed, most single card graphics systems under load draw about 250W of power so if a PSU is 80% efficient that means that 312W of power is being generated by the PSU which means only about 62W of heat is being transferred to the loop by the PSU... About the same as another CPU or GPU... correct?

So if you aren't running SLI, this would seem like a no brainer to get rid of the PSU fan.

Even with SLI/Crossfire, it shouldn't be that much of an impact on a high flowing big bore loop.
