I've got an LG LCA4VE02A 10.4 TFT Color LCD that I would like to use in my car in my room.

I have no idea how to hook this thing up and was wondering if anyone here has used it and could give me a few tips.
I took a few pics of the unit and the little boards that were attched with cables.

Thanks for any help/tips/advice you can give me.

Does it come with any sort of spec sheet or data sheet, or can you find any online? Is this designed to be a laptop LCD? I think those use proprietary controllers.

That small board in the upper left corner of your first picture is the inverter circuit for the cold cathode fluorescent backlight. The slightly larger board is just for organizing the cables in one place. To get this LCD working, you now need the following:

1. A controller board, or the original supporting hardware.
2. An appropriate power supply.

There may or may not be a compatible controller board for that LCD. If you really want to pursue this, I would suggest emailing some of the distributors listed on this page:

Make sure you're specific and give as much information as possible.

Not sure what you're getting into? Here is a good idea of what steps are taken in order to create a usable LCD monitor from a bare module like yours:

Thanks for the tips.
I think I already tossed out the remains of the original machine.

I found a thread on an Car MP3 board that talked about a $40 controller and this LCD was one of the screens that that controller supported, but it was recently discontinued, about 2 weeks ago.
