Anyone using freesync with a 295x2?

I've come to the conclusion that freesync may be broken for the 295x2. I can't launch a dx11 bench/game in full screen and I've tried 2 different pcs (one is a fresh install). I've managed to get freesync to work somewhat with only 1 gpu in some cases, so it isn't the screen. Googlefoo has shown other similar posts elsewhere. I think it has something to do with the fact that it doesn't get the option to globally enable/disable crossfire like other separate card setups. Anyone else having success with freesync and the 295x2?
