I built a really good AGP rig a while back and this is the last vid card I will install in it before selling the whole thing. If anyone has used this card, feedback on it would be great as I have not seen a better AGP card out there for sale. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30502 Thank's for reading this.
 
I haven't used this card, but i can give you a little info.

It is hands down the fastest AGP card (running a 7800GT GPU). It is insanely expensive. It isn't being sold in the US.

If you are considering purchasing this card, put the money into a 7XXX series or X1XXX series and a new motherboard. It'll all cost less than the purchase price (if you can even find this card at it's european MSRP).
 
"This card's magic is that it actually has G71, Geforce 7800 GT PCIe core bridged down to AGP." what the hell does that mean . i thought the G71 was the 7900gt core.

quad, thank's for your input. I do not like to talk money as in when someone say's money is no problem or money does not matter. It makes that person sound like an ass, at least to me. I would call this more of a quest as I want to see the best that AGP can do before I sell it all,leave it behind and move on to pci/e x16 and beond with my other rigs. Thank's again for you taking the time to give me your answer to my question.
 
Dark, I would agree with you but if you read both my links in this thread then you will see why I am not so sure about it being a misprint.

Well, if you'd like the fastest AGP card hands-down, I'd say get on ebay/foreign tech sites that'll ship to wherever you're located and be prepared to shell out big bucks.

All I meant by the 7series and 1XXX series comments were that you can get far better performance for far less money. However, if this truly is a quest to get the best of the best for AGP, then you've found your card.

I looked at the link. Doesn't change the fact that all 7800 series cards all uset the G70 core . . . the 110nm process gives it away . . .

Yeah - that's a G70 core for sure... it's 110nm size.. def not the 90nm which is the G71... I am glad Gainward made this card for AGPers... I still have an AGP machine... while I am not running out to get this card, lol, I like that I could slap a real G70 in there if I wanted to. :)
 
How can you be 100% sure about this? By reading reviews like the two I posted in this thread.

Just take a look at the reviews of 7800GTX or 7800GT (like the ones here at HardOCP for instance) and they will all state the 7800 series uses G70. The 7900 series is a refresh and a die-shrink hence it uses a different core. But since the AGP 7800GT uses a 110nm process, it should be using the older G70 core.

Look at the pic of the card with the sink off it.. the core is 110nm for sure.. the 90nm cores are a lot smaller.
 
As it all seems to come down to who reads what review or listens to whom may be speaking, in the end it does not really matter what nvidia calls the core, does it? Thank's for the feedback people and have a great day!

Yeah and the core, based on the inquirer pic, is identical to a PCI-E 7800GT core . . .
