I've used one in a friend's computer.
Specs:
2500 barton @ 2.2
512 DDR400
Chaintech 6600
Asus motherboard
It runs games pretty well. He played Far cry on medium settings at around 40-50 fps or so. I'm a little rusty on the actual fps. Chronicles of Riddick ran ok too. Lagged in some areas but that's because of the older processor. Overall, I would SERIOUSLY recommend the 6600GT over the plain one. 40-50 bucks more gets you a lot more performance.

i could only agree with luchbox, better get the gt instead. the better ram on the gt will get you a nice performance even in newer games.
only look at mentoks list, my card has the lowest ram speed which leads to the lowest performance, my gt with the same core an ram about 1200mhz scores over 4k !!
that's defenately worth the extra buck's
