Does anyone use these cables for their SATA drives?


I bought a couple from Monarch and they are much better then the standard SATA power and data cable connections at staying on. They are indeed secure, and as they combine the power and the data cable into just one cable, there is one less cable to manage.

There is just one problem that I've found, they do not work! I've tried two different cables with four different drives that work with the normal SATA cables, and the mobo cannot detect the drives with this cable. Anyone have any luck with these?

The SecureConnect cables to not provide power to the drives. Since the SC cable covers the SATA power port, you will need to connect via standard molex. Or, ditch the secure connect and use a SATA power cable and a SATA data cable.
 
dont need them. the SATA cables that came with my motherboard have a little metal tab that clicks into place when you insert them. theres no way you can accidently get a loose connection with them
