I've been using Sibelius for ages to compose and arrange music, but recently under Sibelius 6 and Windows 7 I've been having playback problems. It seems whenever I use the Sibelius Sounds library to play back, the score plays VERY rubato (i.e. it speeds up and slows down playback a lot), sometimes in a swung song the beats will straighten out, if only for a beat or two, etc. It makes trying to listen to something in it very annoying and choppy. I can mitigate the problem a bit by setting affinity on my quad to only a single core, but the problem still persists. General MIDI sounds have the same issue but it's almost unnoticeable, but with the Sibelius Sounds it's very prominent.
Has anyone had a problem like this before? Perhaps with another MIDI-based program?
I use the onboard Optical S/PDIF out into a set of Logitech Z-5500's but I have no latency issues with other programs.
EDIT: Put up a video of the issue on YouTube, so you can hear exactly what's happening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bK9dfha7Kg
