Has anyone used VM's (virtual machines) for gaming (at least for older games) extensively?

For reasons like portability (to not have to re-install everything), compatiblity, or to keep things more organized?

(edited for clarity)

Only Bluestacks for my daughter who likes to play Roblox and Minecraft with a keyboard and mouse. Minecraft for Windows used to be free, but is no longer. We bought Minecraft for her on Google Play, so she can just use that via Bluestacks so we don't have to buy Minecraft twice.

I used some windows games on a mac using the parallels VM. Meh.
