Anyone use a 6600GT on Battlefield 2?

I'm buying one for my HTPC because of it's purevideo support, but I'd like to occasionally play BF2 on that computer.

What settings/resolution are you 6600 GT users using? I'll hopefully be clocked 500mhz+ and 500+ on the mem.

My friend has one and is running a XP 2600+ at Medium detail with low shadows and low lighting 2xAA 8xAF and it looks great!

I have an eVGA 6600GT with only 128MB RAM and I play BF2. I have it set to 1024x768 res with most details on medium and 2xAA. I haven't really to tweak the settings to see what I can get but with the way it currently is it plays and looks pretty good. Granted I also have 1GB of system RAM which definitely helps out though.

bfg 6600gt

1280*1024 all medium settings except dynamic lighting at low and shadows and low, 2xAA 100% draw distance, 60+fps with 1gb ram p4 3ghz

i have a 6600gt in the rig in my sig and i play at 1280x1024 with high textures, no dynamic shadows, medium dynamic lighting, medium lighting, 100% view distance, and 2x aa and it runs great

When my 6600GT worked I was playing at 1024x768 2xAA, everything high except shadows at medium and textures at medium. It played and looked great. I could do textures at high as well, but stuttering would occur at the worst times, such as while flying.

Same here

btw my card is running 500 core 1000 mem for comparison. No issues yet besides game flaws!

wow, thanks for all the responses. Ideally I'd like to play 1024x768 with everything but shadows on high with no AA or AF

I am,

running @ 1280/1024 with everthing at medium and 2x AA. can run at high everthing.. but sometimes it gets jerky.

1280x960 textures med everything else high. I leave my ram/cpu overclocked but just run the video stock settings, otherwise get the green artifacts. I am also running voip and audio on high.

I run it on myXFX 6600GT. I run at 1600x1200, terrain medium, effects medium, geometry medium, texture medium, lighting medium, dynamic shawdows medium, dynamic light medium, AA off, texture filtering low.
Sempron 2800, 1gb DDR-400 (2x512), XFX 6600GT.

I just bought an Inspiron 9300 /w Go6800 so I'm interested to see what I can run it at on that.

Oooh, this is all sounding really promising. My Radeon 9800Pro just isn't cutting it for games (even at low res)

never had a problem.

Smooth framerates usually in mid-40's, rarely under 30.
Just make sure you have over 1GB of RAM at the very least.

edit: btw, does anyone know which of these settings are the most GPU intensive - lighting, dynamic shadows, or dynamic light?

BFG 6600GT OC with 1 Gig of RAM on an Athlon XP 2400+ here.

Everything is on high except Lighting and Textures, which are at Medium.

The Game runs Fine. It could run a tad smoother. But I know it's my CPU that is the botleneck at the moment.
