Im goin for an AM2 690G HTPC system, but the BE-2350/2300 seems to just be a brisbane factory set to 1.25v instead of 1.35v. They are a fair bit more expensive and hard to find right now.
Should I just be able to get pretty much any brisbane and undervolt it myself to 1.25v?
The 3600-5000 are all widely availabe, any advice on which would be best? Should the 5000 be better for undervolting, as it is binned for a higher max clock?
Guess Im looking for first hand experience with undervolting, if anyone here has tried it.

pm me in a couple days and you will have your answer, i am just waiting for the case and mobo to come in to test this,im undervolting a 65W 4400+

i just hate how newegg stores all thier cases and mobos in california

I apologize for my noobness but what is the purpose of undervolting a cpu?

Reduce power consumption and heat, which means less airflow is required to cool the processor, which means less noise (usually you'll have no problem running passively, depending on your heatsink).

I'd guess that the new chips are ones that were binned for higher speed like the 5000+ As those should need less voltage at slower speeds. But you may have to reduce clock speed to reduce the voltage enough to match one of them.

And of course your chip may or may not work with less voltage, while the new ones are selected to do so. And arn't the 5000+ chips more expensive?

I ran my x2 3600 brizzy at 1.2v for a few months before I started overclocking. Never had a hiccup.
