Anyone tried Tabula Rasa?

I've burned out on WoW for the second time (went a lot faster this time around) and was wondering if anyone has had a chance to give Tabula Rasa a try?

I like the non-fantasy setting, it seems like a welcome change, but how is the gameplay? grapchis? stability (for a beta anyways)?

Does it look like a good game or a dud? I'm not expecting a "WoW killer" but hoping for a fun MMO that's at least slightly refreshing.

Anyone?

No idea. I go on the Beta but their servers were down for two days then I could never login for some reason so I gave up. Normal issues with a beta MMO I gather.

I tried it while in Beta was not impressed. But thats just me, you may love it.

Reminds me alot like anarchy online. Though anarchy online was a much better game....

I tested in alpha, then later in beta... never tried the released product.
Can't say it's a game I'd ever consider paying money to play judging from my testing experiences, but your opinion might differ.

Its released? Doh lol I never played my beta account, just my buddies :p

It was alright, nothing special but kinda fun. I only played it for a few hours one day though so not much experience.

See if you can't get a buddy invite or trial key and see how you like it.

I played for about an hour before uninstalling.

I was hoping for something a little different, but it was your bog standard, boring as shit, second job type of MMO.

I just checked my e-mail and saw the beta invite..i'm d/ling now.

I just started it yesterday. It's alright, nothing worth paying for though (at least the way the beta is so far).

Nope. Was invited, didn't care enough to try. Looked like a boring game.

Heh.

I just played for about 2-3 hours. It's okay, it didn't really suck me in like other MMO's I've played. The learning curve is a little steep compared to other MMO's, also. I'm gonna keep playing the beta, but I won't play the final.

It's about the same crap as wow, do quests to lvl up, and occasionally you get to raid instanced areas, I fail to see where the "innovation" Richard Garriot had been raving about.

I just played for about 3-4 hours, got to level 7. I actually am pretty impressed.

Instead of the typical annoying tutorial you get a scripted battle that teaches you things, capturing outposts, planting explosives, crouching, etc.

I want to stab my eyes out playing WoW. I hate level grinding and killing monsters for hours and hours.

What I really loved was the environment. It really feels like you're on some alien planet and in the military. There are barracks and outposts, hospital tents, etc. Pretty cool.

I swear the game = Halo MMOG, and I keep waiting for Master Chief to run by.

Anyway, I had to take a break. I can only handle so many quests.

Things I found disappointing;

Everyone starts out as a generic human with the same exact skills.. Now, being a HUGE UO fan I should love this, I loathe level based games and love skills.. But the difference between UO and this (apart from this actually having levels) -- in this everyone takes the same route to their choice of class/skills. I can't make a naked guy with just an apron and hammer and run over to the mountains, mine for days, buy a llama, then mine some more, then become a master blacksmith.. You start out a soldier, like everyone else and add skills from there.

You choose your "1st tier" class at level 5, which is soldier or specialist. Everyone is pretty much running around in the same style of armor if they're anywhere near the same level.. same weapons..etc.

I'd have to completely disagree.

The fire fights feel worse than those in Gunz Online, and you do have to kill hundreds of monsters for hours to level up unless you only do quests, in which you go out and kill monsters. 200 Thrax monsters have to be killed, that takes a while considering they only spawn in groups of 2,3, and 4 and you have to wait for them to be dropped.

I thought the environment was similar to that of Guild Wars in certain areas, so I didn't feel like I was on a different planet at all.

The only thing I liked about the game was the Tiers, but that only was interesting for so long.

It's a typical Grindfest, I'd recommend passing on this one, but if you really wanna try it the open beta is out now.

Game was boring for me. Didnt feel like you were unique enough and just long grinding for something that should be alot more original.

stalker online-ified sound about right?

If so I'm willing to give this game a try. I've said it before, Wow with a gun, and a bigger map would be on my top 10 favorite games. AOTS seemed pretty impressed.

The 200 Thrax thing is easy, you have to kill Thrax officers also. You aren't supposed to wait around for them to drop, you're supposed to go into the contested areas further from base that look like a war zone - there's pretty much always combat going on there with groups upon groups of Strogg.. I mean bane.

They definitely screwed up in making you feel unique. You don't feel unique at all. It's not terrible while you're new and have your beginning armor, but around level 6-7 everyone is wearing the exact same generic military looking outfit and hat.

I think it could be a killer game, but something feels like it's missing. Like ZP said, it's not sure if its an FPS or an MMOG, so you want to do Battlefield 2 type things but you're limited..
