Been out of the oc scene for quite a while. I see lots of water cooling but no peltiers on the forums. Are the power/condensation requirements just not worth the hassle when theres so many water systems out these days?

They can double your power usage for your overclocked CPU making it somewhat difficult to dissipate the 500W+ of heat load (CPU + peltier junction) on the hot side.

Pelt setups were already tough to work with and maintain back then, and nowadays ain't noone being bothered with good AiOs out there that enable what would likely be exactly the same type of overclocking experience in the end. Hell, even your diehard CLC space is getting slim.

I suppose it may be the fact that you can get massive overclocks without having to resort to such extreme measures because chips these days are fabbed so "small" compared to the old dinosaurs.

I haven't even hear the word peltier in about 10 years. Blast from the past, heh.

Yeah, I don't think they're common at all anymore, or even necessary really.

nice to see someone talking about peltiers :D
how much time is passed since my last peltier.
