I am seeing new laptops that can display XSGA+ of 1400x1050 and UXGA at 1600x1200
They are great ! I hate 1024 and 1600 on a 15" is awesome
Any idea when/if these XSGA+ and UXGA panels will get into desk top displays ?
I would love to have a 15" desk top lcd that did 1600x1200

Why would anybody want something that small that high of res on their desktop? The point of having it on a laptop is because the screen goes with you and you want small size w/ high resolution. On the desktop, most people would rather have a larger display that they can actually read than a small display with a high resolution. The main reason small desktop lcds are purchased are because they are cheap compared to their bigger brothers. If you increase the pixel count, you increase the cost. So it pretty much comes down to there is no market for a high resolution small lcd. And if you can't make money on something, there is no use in producing it.
