Just wondering how it's overclocking. :)

I'm getting one to see what I can get out of it.
I'm using water so I'm not so worried about the heat. ;)

I'm wondering what speed to order. 2.8, 3.0 or 3.2.

Input? :)

I don't mean to be rude by not really trying to help you out but make sure you check out my thread first.

Good luck with whatever you end up doing, and enjoy that h2O. :D

Wouldn't take it if it was free.....well I'd resell...but you know what I mean. These aren't all they're cracked up to be. They run hotter than an oven and aren't very good overclockers.

Key word here..........YET.

Just give 'em some time and/or check out my thread linked to above and you'll see what I'm getting at. Don't count 'em out yet.

I hope they can lick the heat issue quickly or the bad press will hurt the migration to the prescott.

And that's the last thing any company needs when they're trying to debut their "latest and greatest".....let's hope for the best.

They did lose this battle though, But hopefully not the war.

I like your spirit on the prescott.

Do you know some inside info on the next revision that will make it shine over this nuclear core im trying to cool now??

Please help me to hang on too!!

Sure it will be revised, but I'm 99% sure it will be for Socket T and not a damn thing changed for 478. Thus forcing your socket T upgrade. C'mon people, this is Intel we're talking about.

I totally agree. From day 1 I think this was a transitional chip, nothing more.

the sad thing is that so many people expected so much more without even knowing enough to make their own assumptions.

O well, they're the ones that'll get dropped on their asses when their theories don't hold up, not us. :D

Yeah I was gonna say april but I wasn't for sure. Should be when the P4 takes off again.

so when the socket t comes out we need ddr2 and pci express in order to use it? I think it would be a painful upgrade process for 75% of the people if they do that. Who likes to start from scratch again??

Really doesn't seem feasible. I think they'll come up with something rather than alienate a whole crapload of people.
