Just getting back into it. Much harder than remember. I'm using a logitech Dual Action controller for it. It's frickin hard!! I used to play Gran Turismo back in the day on PS1, not much racing game exp since then. I love to hate the difficulty on the game.

I have PlayStation 2 controller with an adapter with one of those blue converters, but can't get the game to recognize it for some reason as far as vibration.

Who's having a good experience with the game on PC, and what kind of control are you using? (I'm not really into wheels type cntrls.).

I'd play it again if I had a wheel, getting sick of the old KB for racing games.

Using logitech rumble pad. It is hard but thats what I love about it. To me its like Gran Turismo x10.

I play it with two of my friends. I have a wired Xbox360 controller that I use to play it.

We just do the standard three lap races (any track) with assists off.

I really enjoy the MP, but I find the single player too hard. I'm wayyyy too conservative, and rely purely on my friends going off-track/wrecking their cars to rack up wins.

Well I just ordered the xbox 360 wireless receiver and a wireless controler to play some grid so hopefully it all works out. My friend loves playing grid on his 360 controller for windows.

I am loving the game. I am almost at the point of beating it.just about to get my last license.

I am using a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad.
Cost me $12 from Ebay 2 years ago. It is perfect. Just like a ps2 controller but with a strong! rumble.

Cranked all the way up maxxed out, this game is very nice and runs >60fps at all times.

The only gripe I have though is that when I turn off all assist and and have manual transmission I feel like the game still gives me a auto brake feature.
I want it to be me 100% raw controlling the car.

Like say I am on a straight and going 110mph and let off the gas.
I will slowly decelerate.
But if I am going 110mph in the same gear coming toward a turn and I let off the gas, I slow down much faster then going on a straight, though I am doing the exact same thing.
I checked 10+ times to make sure all assist were off and they were.
I guess that just how the game is...

Still a blast though. Especially the 24 Lemans and the drifting.

for PC if you don´t want a wheel Xbox 360 gamepad... Also the steering is optimized for gamepads and this is not a sim so I suspect it´s a bit harder with a wheel. However it´s still quite easy... Remember you don´t have to win every single race you just have to manage your sponsorships ;)

If you play it on easy I can´t understand how anyone can possibly find it hard...

I find the head/shoulder view really tough on turns. Maybe need more practice. Are all your controls stock settings like steering percentage etc?

So what are the controller settings you all use?

I use a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 and I find the steering to be way to sensitive. I've adjusted the hell out of saturation, deadzone, etc. and it still steers like shit. Seems like turning is all or nothing.

I was really good at Gran Turismo and NFS but this games steering is terrible.

Anyone care to share thier settings?

Me and a buddy from work have been playing. He's using a Momo I believe and I'm using the G25. A very fun game and it runs incredibly well. I haven't even made time to swap out the 7900GTX running it for the 8800GTX sitting on the shelf in my closet, lol.

I kind of go on spurts of different genres. GRID got me back into racing. It handled well enough and looked great. I have a Microsoft Sidewinder wheel which makes it more fun as well.

I plan on buying it, just haven't got around to it with all the other games I've purchased lately.

+1 for the xbox 360 controller. I have heard that the designers used them to play the game.

Hrmmn I may return the Logitech and get the xbox contoller. Xbox controller is just $80 bucks for he cordless and the usb converter.

I prefer the wired controller.

It's about half the price, and I find it more ergonomic (no giant battery pack slot at the back)

So does anyone care to share thier steering settings or did you all just leave them default?

Is your game at the latest patch? I stopped using my RP2 because the game saw the analog as digital input. I did read in patch notes that this was addressed for the RP2, but you may have to modify/delete files to make it work correctly - I don't remember. Check the offical forums.

I just used the default 360 controller setup. I find the game quite hard as I play it on Normal difficulty with no automatic assist, pro mode (no restarts or flashbacks) and manual shifting with a lock on drivers view. It's quite fun and I've unlocked all the licenses but only have about half of the gold medals.

lol i saw this thread on the main forum section.. cant believe i totally forgot about this game.. and reminds me that i need to get a game pad at the same time.. but meh keyboard works just fine for destruction derby.. now i have to go and play the game again.. :p
