OK, so I started this new job on Tuesday. I'm a Windows guy, but I know a little about Linux. I have had no experience with Solaris. Well, my new boss likes my Windows skills and told me I'd be quick to pick up on the necessary Linux and Solaris things.

He hasn't shown me much so far, but we're working on it.

one catch: My new boss is out sick today.

Now I have a problem with a Sun Fire T2000 from a software dev who just rebooted it.

He says he gets the systems controller prompt, but never gets the OK or # prompt. From what I understand, the OK prompt is similar to a bios pausing to ask what to boot from, and the # is kind of like a basic OS prompt, like a DOS boot up.

The manager wants me to see what I can do to handle it. I have had so little experience with Sun machines that I have no idea where to start.

anyone with any hints?

Oh, forgot to mention: I can telnet into the Lights Out Manager, but I don't have any login info. I don't know if this would help at all.

nm, I got my new boss on IM and he's helping me now. just ignore this thread for now.
