i just got a crazy idea in my head...
does anyone know how hard it would be to create a wireless ISP over about a 1 mile radius?
i go to a small college which is probably less than a square mile.. i figure that i could possibly get an antenna for a few hundred bucks.. throw together a server and be able to send wireless internet access across the whole campus..
i could probably start by getting a cable modem.. and selling it out to maybe 10 people max for $20 - 30 a month just to cover my costs... and all of us could get wireless internet anywhere on campus.. download music or whatever we want without worrying about violating campus computer use policy and all that good stuff.. and not have to pay for a phone line, and dsl.. or cable and cable modem..
does this sounds feaseable? or am in just crazy and underestimating costs..
