Thinking about making the black p180 my next case. My LL pc7b is just getting boring to me now a days. I want to install a window on the p180 -- a small one, about the same size as a normal atx motherboard.

has anyone done this before? I understand that the p180 side panels are pretty damn thick, and I am wondering if I need to find a bolt on window kit or if one with just channel molding will do OK.

And, what would you recommend to cut the panel? I've got an in-house carpenter (gogo super dad) so finding the right tool should not be a problem, I just need to know what that right tool is! :p

Thanks guys.

That what you looking for. Well, I have no idea on how to build the window but I do know that you can buy one for 200 over at performance-pc's.com. They have a window'd black p180 and the silver model. Even comes with the P180 logo etched on it. Because of my lacking carpenter skills I would work over the extra 60 for a pro job, but you got your pop. BTW, I totally love the P180.

i'll agree when they built the front door out of something at least somewhat metallic or sturdy and not cheap-ass plastic. That's about my only complaint with the case. I don't own one but working at fry's for 7 months gave me plenty of time to check it out.

Thanks for the replies.

The thing is, I don't want to spend the extra 60 to get a full window like that, I only want a rather small one (like 12x10) up where the motherboard is. I don't need to see my powersupply and the lower areas of the case.

i'd say you could just get a small sheet of plexi glass from lowes and use a dremel to cut out the window on the side panel. heck since it's so thick, i'd use the dremel to make a small cut and then use a jig saw with a metal cutting saw and much steady hands.

i personally like the window with the glass on the inside of the case instead of outide the case like above.
