anyone here use omiga drivers

I have ran these drivers and can't figure out one thing about them.
They always say you do NOT have to uninstall previous versions.
But when you install a newer version and then go into control panel
they are both there on add/remove software.
whats up with that?
Are they sharing some dll's or ???

ok to remove them in add/remove?

do you use a cleaner to remove all old drivers before update, if so which one?

removing them in the add/remove programs window i believe is only to remove the setup files they left on your computer. the ones that say Omega Driver Files 2.5.56 or whatever isent for the actual display driver uninstall

the real way to unstall them is to remove the "ATI Display Driver (Omega 2.5.56)" or whatever

atleast thats what ive seen. personally i do remove all the drivers before i install new ones, just as a habit really but im sure it doesent hurt to do it anyway
 
You're supposed to un-install your ATi control panel before you install Omegadrive's drivers, it's in the readme.

Something about the two conflicting if you don't.
 
yes I removed all the ati files before installing the omega drivers.
But I just put on the latest omega drivers and it says no need to uninstall
the previous drivers. Once it was installed and reboot when I go to the control
panel/add remove programs it shows both of the drivers as installed.

I think g3no already got it right. Look carefully at what you are seeing in the add/remove programs. The SETUP FILES FOR OMEGA DRIVERS VER XXX is a remove option. You can get multiple entries for removal of previous driver SETUP FILES, but you should only have one entry for the currently installed driver in a different location. Take a closer look at what the entries in your add/remove say. I've been using the Omega drivers for many driver iterations and I like them much better than the ATI ones, especially since you don't have to install the control panel as a separate application. If you're really worried when updating your drivers then use the driver cleaner applet that comes with the Omegas before updating. RTFM if you use the driver cleaner as there is a specific sequence to use the tool.
